-(으)ㄹ게요
Quick answer: -(으)ㄹ게요 means I will — a promise to the person in front of you.
How to form it
No final consonant → -ㄹ게요 · final consonant → -을게요 · only about yourself
In Korean: 받침 X → -ㄹ게요 받침 O → -을게요 나에게만 씁니다
What to know
-(으)ㄹ게요 only works with 저 or 제가. You cannot say 「사라 씨가 갈게요」 — a promise is yours to make. It also expects a listener: alone in your room you would say 갈 거예요, not 갈게요.
Examples
- 제가 음료를 사 올게요.I will go and buy the drinks.
- 간식은 제가 가져올게요.I will bring the snacks.
