-는 게 어때요?

Quick answer: -는 게 어때요? means how about — a suggestion that leaves the choice with the listener.

How to form it

Verb stem + 는 게 어때요? · same form whether or not the stem ends in a consonant

In Korean: 동사 어간 + 는 게 어때요? 받침과 상관없습니다

What to know

You have 같이 가요 and 갈까요? for suggestions. -는 게 어때요? is softer than both, because it asks how the idea strikes the other person rather than proposing to do it together. It is the polite way to give advice to someone who did not ask for it.
