N보다

Quick answer: N보다 means than — the thing you are measuring against.

How to form it

Put 보다 on the thing you compare against · usually together with 더 (more)

In Korean: 견주는 쪽에 보다를 붙입니다 보통 더와 같이 씁니다

What to know

보다 sits on the thing you are comparing against, not on the thing you are talking about. English puts «than» in the same place, but the word order is opposite — 「A는 B보다 크다」 is «A is bigger than B». 더 is optional and only adds emphasis.
