-아/어도
Quick answer: -아/어도 means even if, even though — it does not change the outcome.
How to form it
Stem ending in ㅏ or ㅗ → -아도 · any other stem → -어도 · 하다 → 해도
In Korean: ㅏㅗ → -아도 그 밖 → -어도 하다 → 해도
What to know
In 11-1 you used -아/어도 되다 to ask permission. Here the same -아/어도 stands alone and means «even if». The shape is identical, so read the whole sentence: if 되다 follows, it is permission; if anything else follows, it is «even if».
